What you share, and what stays yours
Your public profile name, profile picture and approved recommendations are visible to other people. Your email address is available to authorised administrators for account management, not on public profiles. Your diary, private notes, RTE/OTE verdicts and Want to Try list stay private to your account.
Recommending a privately saved place opens a draft for you to review. It does not publish your save. Photographs and public comments require your explicit selection and submission, followed by the existing review process.
Running the app
We use Supabase and Vercel to provide sign-in, store app data and operate Plain Greedy. Essential sign-in and app preferences work without optional analytics. Google Places requests run when you use lookup. If you choose nearby discovery, your current position is used in your browser to calculate distances; we do not send it to Google Analytics.
Optional Google Analytics
When enabled, Google Analytics 4 helps us understand page visits and actions such as searching, recommending, saving or logging a meal. It loads only after you choose Allow analytics. Declining does not affect the app.
We send generic page categories and action counts, not raw search text, email addresses, member IDs, private place details, meal notes, verdicts, visit dates or precise coordinates. Advertising features are disabled. Google may still receive technical information, such as browser/device information and network information, when its analytics tag is loaded. These providers may process information outside Singapore.
You can change your choice below. Withdrawing consent stops future analytics collection and clears this app’s GA cookies; it does not automatically erase data already received by Google.
Your choices
You can edit your profile and remove your own private saves, diary entries and recommendations using the app. For privacy questions, access/correction requests or account deletion, contact heyplaingreedy@gmail.com. We will review requests and any records that need to be retained for security or service operation.
